The Origin Story

It started as a Stanford engineer's experiment. It became a global movement.

— Alan Adler · Inventor of AeroPress, 2005

Designed in 2005 by Stanford engineering instructor Alan Adler in his Palo Alto garage, the AeroPress was born from a single frustration. Most home coffee was bitter, weak, or both. Two decades later, it has become the most universally loved manual brewer in specialty coffee.

From World AeroPress Championship routines to professional baristas' personal kits to office desks across India, the AeroPress earns its place through one quiet promise. A clean, full-flavoured cup in under a minute, every time.

Common Questions

AeroPress India FAQ

Which AeroPress should I buy first?
For most people the AeroPress Original at ₹3,599 is the right starting point. If you travel often or want a brewer for your office desk, the AeroPress Go (₹4,299) or Go Plus (₹9,299) are better fits. The Clear range is for those who want a transparent brewer to see the brew.
Is the AeroPress original from the USA?
Yes. AeroPress is invented and designed in Palo Alto, California, by Alan Adler in 2005. Takumi Brewing Lab brings the genuine AeroPress range to India with full warranty and accessory support.
How long does an AeroPress last?
Used daily, an AeroPress typically lasts 5 to 8 years before the rubber seal needs replacing. Replacement seals are available at ₹600 and replacement filter caps at ₹1,000.
How is AeroPress different from a French Press?
A French Press uses a metal mesh filter that lets oils and fines through, producing a heavier, textured cup. AeroPress uses a paper filter, producing a cleaner, brighter cup closer to filter coffee. AeroPress also brews much faster, 90 seconds versus 4 minutes, and cleans up in seconds.
Can I make espresso with an AeroPress?
Not true espresso, which requires 9 bars of pressure. But AeroPress produces an excellent espresso-style concentrate that works beautifully as a base for milk drinks at home. With the AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap (₹2,300) you can build extra back-pressure for a more espresso-like result.
Do you ship AeroPress across India?
Yes. Takumi Brewing Lab ships AeroPress and accessories pan-India. Delivery typically within 5 to 7 working days to most cities. Free shipping on orders over ₹5,000.
