Do I need prior coffee experience to join?
No prior experience is required. The course is designed for absolute beginners and those wanting formal certification. Our trainers guide you from fundamentals to professional-level skills across the 5 days.
What is the Takumi Brewing Lab certificate and do I need it?
The Coffee Board certification (included in your fee) is sufficient for most barista roles across India. The Takumi Brewing Lab certificate (optional, ₹24,780) adds daily performance scoring, advanced assessments, and a premium credential valued by high-end establishments and international employers. It is recommended for serious specialty coffee careers but not mandatory.
Do you provide job placement assistance?
Yes. We have strong relationships with cafés, hotels, and hospitality groups across Bengaluru and other cities. We connect you with opportunities, assist with resumes, and provide ongoing career guidance through our alumni network.
What equipment will I train on?
You will train on commercial-grade Brewlyn Signature espresso machines, professional burr grinders, and various manual brewing equipment including V60, French Press, AeroPress, and Chemex. All industry-standard equipment used in professional cafés.
How do I qualify for the 50% concession?
The concession is available for SC/ST candidates (valid caste certificate required), current college students (valid student ID required), and in-house candidates from partner organisations. Proof of eligibility must be submitted at registration.
Is accommodation or lunch provided?
This is a non-residential program. Coffee and refreshments are provided throughout training each day. For lunch, there are multiple cafés and restaurants within walking distance of our JP Nagar center. We can recommend nearby accommodation for participants coming from outside Bengaluru.
Can I start my own café after completing this course?
Absolutely. Day 5 covers café layout design, menu costing, equipment selection, and business fundamentals. Many alumni have launched successful coffee businesses. Takumi Brewing Lab also offers full café consulting services for additional support at any stage of your journey.
